Who is Chuck?!
Hello my name is Chuck McClung, and I am a lifelong plant enthusiast, gardening mentor, landscaping consultant, and author.
I have worked with plants my entire life. I worked in gardens in junior high school, and completed my Master’s Degree in Botany at Washington State University. I’ve also worked in ecological and botanical research for Oregon State University, University of Montana, and the University of Illinois.
Many years ago I worked as a General Manager of a large family-owned independent garden center, and it is here where I truly learned to talk with others and help them achieve gardening success.
These days I mainly work with homeowners as a mentor or consultant and teach a wide variety of gardening classes for nurseries, plant societies, and garden clubs.
I absolutely love seeing others light up when they are successful with their plants or learn something new and unexpected. I enjoy helping others:
- Grow their own food!
- Create eye popping container arrangements.
- Side by side with someone who a passion to learn how to take care of their plants themselves.
- Creating backyard orchards
- Finding awesome plants for troubled spots in their landscape.
- Helping someone to rebloom their orchids!
If you love plants and love to learn about plants or have a passion to take your plants and garden to the next level, feel free to contact me!
If your local garden club or plant society would like a guest speaker for you monthly meeting, I’d love to talk to you!
