I visited the Fall Show of the San Diego County Orchid Society this past Saturday. I met a couple of nice people from the society, and I think I am finally going to join. Their monthly meetings are held in Balboa Park, Casa Del Prado, Room 101, on the first Tuesday of each month:

Here are some of my favorite orchids from the show!

Zygopetalum maxillare. Multiple spikes with nice rich, dark toned, nicely fragrant flowers. This one would have been my next favorite orchid of the show!
Phalaenopsis hybrid
Rhyncholaeliocattleya Village Chief ‘North’
Paphiopedlium spicerianum
Epilaeliocattleya Volcano Trick ‘Fireball’ – a huge plant about with well over 100 flowers on multiple flower spikes close to 3 feet tall.
Dendrobium hybrid

Laeliocattleya Melana’s Song

Chiloschista parishii is an orchid with no leaves and no stems, only roots! Flower spikes emerge from the crown of the plant where the root all connect. I will let you discover/google on your own what the flowers look like!
